Hot Seat

This is a whole class exercise that centers around one volunteer. One volunteer comes up to the front of the class and sits in the hot seat. The teacher than poses a subjective, philosophical or controversial question to the volunteer. The volunteer must give his/her opinion about the subject and then give three (3) supporting reasons why s/he feels that way. The volunteer's classmates then give their reactions to the volunteer's stance.
